MISSION
Our mission, very simply stated, is to offer our expertise and experience to assist clients with implementing their decisions by making informed choices about what to do, when to do it, who to do it, why they are doing it, and how to do it. The nature of an "informed" decision is that the client understands the pros and cons of the decisions they are making, having received input from us in terms of how we have seen the things they want done accomplished by other groups in other situations. After all, that is the reason that an association brings in an association management company (AMC).
BUSINESS PHILOSOPHY
Our business philosophy involves the concept of working "with" clients, not necessarily working "for" them. In addition to helping our clients make informed decisions, we believe it is important for us to be welcome to make suggestions on ways of working that we have seen work in other organizations. When we work with our clients, we view the relationship as a partnership, one in which all parties can professionally and collegially discuss thoughts and ideas on how to run better and provide more service to the members. However, it is very important not to forget whose association it is - - the client’s. After we provide all of the relevant information surrounding a decision, it is the society’s responsibility to make a decision, and our responsibility to help them implement it. In terms of working with our clients for the purpose of making decisions, we strongly believe that those decisions should be based on objective data whenever possible.
MEETING THE NEEDS OF CLIENTS
How do we meet the needs of our clients? The first thing that an association management company must do to best serve the needs of its client’s members is to meet basic needs well. These basic needs include overall member responsiveness; responsiveness of the management team to leadership; timely and courteous customer service in regard to member/leader interactions, order fulfillment, requests for service, meeting registration and post-meeting follow-up; database accuracy; and timely and accurate financial reporting.
It is only when the above items become routine and are delivered with excellent quality that the association can turn its eyes towards what we would call the more "fun" things in an association, namely asking questions about who the association is, where the association is going, where it should be going, how it should get there, and how to improve itself when it gets there.
